A reimbursement coupon is automatically issued when the number of credits accumulated reaches or exceeds a value of $500. Depending on the particular game, wager amounts can vary from $0.02 to $2.50.
Difference Between Payout Rate and Cashout Rate
The payout rate and cashout rate are two distinct items that should not be confused. The payout rate is refers to the electronic parameters of the terminals and the cashout rate refers to the player's behaviour.
The player payout rate is programmed for each game. It is determined after millions of games have been played and takes into account random outcomes, as well as the multiplicity of games, the variety of prizes and possible combinations. Note that the Regulation respecting the rate of return of video lotteries (c. L-6, r. 13) specifies that the payout rate must not be less than 83%.
The cashout rate, on the other hand, is not a fixed value and cannot be programmed, as it depends on the player's decision to cash his or her winnings at any particular time. Players, and not the terminal, determine the cashout rate.
For example, if $1.00 is deposited in a terminal and the payout rate is 92%:
| Example | Bet | Average win | Payout rate | Cash out rate (if winnings are cashed out) |
| Initial bet | $1.00 | $0.92 | 92% | 92% |
| Credits won and re-played | $0.92 | $0.85 | 92% | 85% |
| Credits won and re-played | $0.85 | $0.78 | 92% | 78% |
| Credits won and re-played | $0.78 | $0.72 | 92% | 72% |
| Total | $3.55 | $3.27 | 92% |
