Game Overview

Video lottery terminals offer line games, Poker and Keno. The outcome of video lottery games is based solely on chance, even when players have the possibility of making choices.

Here are the three principal categories of games available:

Line Games

Line Games

Games in which the player tries to obtain several identical symbols or certain specific combinations along the same line or on the same screen.

  • The player wagers the desired number of credits on one or more lines.
  • These lines can be horizontal, vertical or in a "V" alignment, depending on the rules of the particular line game.
  • The calculation of gains varies based on the number of winning lines and symbols obtained.
  • Several line games also offer bonus pools, bonuses, fever modes and bonus rounds.

Poker

Poker

Games in which the player tries to obtain the best combination possible with a five-card hand.

  • The terminal deals an initial five-card hand at random.
  • The player can opt to keep the number of cards desired.
  • If some cards are rejected, an equal number of new cards are dealt.
  • The result of the new hand determines if the player wins or loses the game. The gains vary based on the winning combination, the player’s wager, and the particularities of the selected game.

Keno

Keno

Games in which the player tries to guess the numbers that will be drawn at random by the terminal.

  • The player first selects 2 to 10 numbers.
  • The terminal then draws 20 numbers at random from among a possible 80.
  • The more winning numbers the player selects, the more credits he earns.
  • The prize table indicates the gains based on the amount of numbers selected by the player.

What is fever mode?

Depending on the game, fever mode is activated when specific combinations or certain bonus symbols are obtained during a set number of games. When this mode is active, the games played are sometimes free and, depending on the game, additional prizes can be awarded.

What is double up?

In several games, a double up mode gives players a chance to double the credits earned on each winning game. These credits must never exceed $250, the maximum win at a video lottery terminal being set at $500. Once these conditions are met, a double up button appears on the screen, and when it is pressed, the game shifts into double up mode. The player can then place his wager or exit this mode. A half-wager mode is also available in certain games. The double up mode is deactivated with a losing game, unless the player decided to quit before.

What is a bonus pool?

Depending on the game, credits accumulate with specific combinations. A minimum wager is required to take part in the pool, which increases with the number of credits wagered obtaining a specific combination. In an eight-line game, for example, the player must wager eight credits (one credit per line). Two "triple bars" or more increase the pool, and nine "fruits" win it.

What is a bonus?

Depending on the game and the wager placed, an additional prize or points are awarded as a bonus when a player obtains a specific combination.

What is a bonus round?

Depending on the game, a bonus round is activated when a player obtains a specific combination offering bonuses or free games.
