Among the Highest Commission Rates in Canada

Retailers receive a commission of 22% on net revenues generated by VLTs operated in their establishments. This rate is the highest offered in any Canadian province operating a VLT network, with the exception of Newfoundland and Labrador.

The Société des loteries vidéo du Québec defrays the majority of the costs related to operating VLTs, including:

• terminal registration fees
• terminal installation, maintenance and repair
• training offered as part of excessive-gaming prevention programs
• telephone line communications between the video lottery central system and terminals
• sales taxes (GST and PST)

Retailers are responsible for assuming only power installation and electricity costs.
