Sign your ticket

Since May 15, all purchasers of lottery tickets are required to sign their ticket front or back in order to claim a prize, whatever the prize amount may be.
When you sign it at the time of purchase, you facilitate the proof that you are the owner of the ticket and you protect your interests in case of loss. This simple act of signing takes only a few seconds.
Validating a ticket
Ticket validation has three steps.
- Listen carefully to the musical tones

Listen closely whenever you validate a ticket. If you have won a prize, the terminal will play a musical theme melody. It is important for you to pay attention, because the music will confirm that you hold a winning ticket.
Please listen to the following two theme melodies:
1. This melody tells you that the amount you have won can be paid out by the retailer.

| New terminal |
2. This melody tells you that the prize is bigger and that you need to complete the prize Claim Form.

- Watch the consumer display
The terminal's consumer display must be visible at all times when you are validating your ticket. It will indicate whether or not you have a winning ticket and, when applicable, the amount you have won.
- Insist on getting back your ticket and the corresponding validation coupon
Since January 14, 2008, every terminal-equipped Loto-Québec retailer is required to follow new lottery ticket validation procedures: all tickets, whether or not they are winners, must be handed back to the consumer along with the corresponding validation coupon. This Loto-Québec policy is in response to one of the recommendations in last autumn's report by KPMG.
