When it first established the Collection, Loto-Québec set itself a dual mission: bring exposure to contemporary art and support Québec’s creative arts community. Beyond being a simple collection of artworks, the Collection Loto-Québec is an essential element of Loto-Québec’s social mission.
The corporation supports the arts and culture, not as an investor, but rather as a patron.
Thanks to its acquisitions program of contemporary art works, the Collection Loto‑Québec, endowed with more than 4,500 works created by nearly 1,200 artists from Québec, promotes Québec’s creative talent throughout the province.
Partnerships between the Collection Loto-Québec and the Triennale québécoise, the Musée national des Beaux-arts du Québec, the Musée de la Civilisation de Québec, as well as with the Montréal Museum of Fine Arts and the Musée d'Art contemporain de Montréal also contribute to promoting Québec's creative talent throughout the province.
