The main use of RSS feeds is to be notified when a Web site has been modified, without you actually having to visit the site. There's no need to open the page and browse around to get the latest info. With an RSS feed, you get all the latest updates as soon as they’re published.
RSS stands for "Really Simple Syndication" and is a variant of the XML language originally created for Web content sharing.
The first thing you'll need is an RSS newsreader, or aggregator, which is the only tool that interprets RSS information. The popular Firefox (for Windows or Mac) and Safari (Mac OS X) browsers have built-in RSS readers. If you use a different browser, you can find an RSS reader by typing "RSS reader" or "RSS aggregator" in your favourite search engine.
Then, just click the XML button you’re interested in and cut and paste its URL into the appropriate field of your RSS reader or browser.
