Espace Création

Espace Création

Welcome to Espace Création, a venue for exhibitions and activities dedicated to promoting the visual arts. This site provides a special showcase to budding and established creative artists from Québec.

Espace Création revitalises and bolsters the commitment Loto Québec made more than 30 years ago to actively support contemporary creative arts, while raising the public profile of La Collection Loto-Québec.

La Collection selon... Les Impatients
From January 20 to May 20, 2012

Come and discover La Collection selon... Les Impatients, which will be presented at Espace Création until May 20, 2012. Loto-Québec decided to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the Fondation Les Impatients (in French only) with an event that called upon a number of personalities to produce this unusual and touching exhibition. The Foundation supports people suffering from mental illness by encouraging expression of the arts.

The personalities designed their segment of the exhibition using a selection of works of art made available by Collection Loto-Québec curator Louis Pelletier. Each piece was displayed as a focus point and twinned with a work of art produced by an "Impatient." The event therefore laid out a creative background to bring to light the quality of works produced by these unique artists.

The architects of this exciting presentation are Clémence DesRochers, spokesperson for the organization, Marc Béland, Pierre Bellemare and Gaétane Lupien (an "Impatiente"), Janine Carreau, Marie-Christine Champagne and Louis Champagne, Robert Dutton, Pierre Henry and Pierre Théberge, Céline Lacerte and Yves Lamontagne, Catherine Trudeau as well as Mariloup Wolfe and Guillaume Lemay‑Thivierge.

The rear room at Espace Création is dedicated to the world of "Impatients." The selection of these works was made by Louis Pelletier, head commissioner of the exhibition, with a view to demonstrating the Impatients’s freedom of creation and lack of barriers and enabling the public to get to know them better.

Upcoming exhibitions

Dyades
From June 13 to September 3, 2012

Espace Création Loto-Québec, in cooperation with ARTV, will welcome an all-new exhibition entitled Dyades from June 13 to September 3, 2012.

For the occasion, 14 artists featured in the Collection Loto-Québec were brought together and paired up to act as guest commissioners and create a hanging space that reflects their respective dyad. Louis Pelletier, curator of the Collection, asked seven experienced artists to select a striking piece from those created by other Collection artists, therefore producing the seven dyads. Visitors will have an opportunity to see these artists’ collaboration as captured by the camera. Inspiring moments infused with magic.

Some forty works of art exhibited for the occasion will be drawn from the artists’ portfolios or may be recent creations.

The exhibition is a logical follow-up to a televised seven-capsule project aired on ARTV in 2010. Broadcast modules at the heart of the exhibition will enable visitors to discover or rediscover these great interviews with artists.
